Benjamin helped me find out the overheating problem on the bike, took all day and the removal of about a thousand screws holding the faring on but we finally found the thermostat and ordered a new one. Only forty three dollars for a ten dollar part, but it is stamped with the genuine HONDA logo-------boy am I happy now. Decided to put the timing belts on since the whole front end of the bike is now torn off and access is easy --------------another genuine HONDA part for triple the price. I am quickly realizing I can't afford to ride a motorcycle, they are more expensive than cars. But I can't wait until the next trip.

I KEEP HEARING STORIES FORM MY FAMILY THEY READ ABOUT EACH OTHER SO AFTER THE PAST WEEKEND AT THE SPRUCES, SPENT WITH MY SISTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES I THOUGHT I WOULD ATTEMPT TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIND THE DIFFERENT BLOGS. i CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THEM BUT WILL POST A BLOG ANYWAY. i DO LOOK FOREWARD TO BEING WITH MY FAMILY ANY TIME I CAN. CELEBRATING SPECIAL EVENTS IS ALWAYS FUN BUT I DO LOVE TO HAVE MY CHILDREN JUST STOP BY. I AM SO HAPPY THAT MY CHILDREN LIKE TO BE WITH EACH OTHER, DO THINGS TOGETHER. THIS SUMMER BENJAMIN, MCKENZIE AND I RODE TO SAM FRANCISCO THEN NORTH ON CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY ONE TO IT'S TERMINUS AN LEGGITT. WE RODE THROUGH THE DRIVE THROUGH TREE, A TWENTY ONE FOOT DIAMETER REDWOOD. THEN UP TO THE AVENUE OF THE GIANTS, THE REDWOOD FORREST. A GREAT TRIP. I HOP TO DO ANOTHER TRIP NEXT YEAR AND PERHAPS JACOB WILL JOIN US. I ALSO LOVE TO GO TO LAS VEGAS TO SEE KARI AND RAINEER THE VISIT IS ALWAYS FUN AND SOMETIMES I EVEN GET TO PAINT IN THEIR HOUSE, NOT THE ARTISTIC KIND OF PAINTING BUT THE HOUSE KIND OF PAINTING. NEXT ON THE MENU WOULD BE THE ACQUIRING OF THE ABILITY TO PUT SOME PHOTOS ON THIS BLOG. WHERE IS BETH WHEN I NEED HER, O YEAH, AT HER HOME.

Long time with no post. I suppose I will never get to where the electronic age is an intregal part of my life, I have even given up the cell phone. I actually had a cell phone for several years, costing me $9.95 per month, but when I went a full year without making one single call I finally gave it up. I never even learned the telephone number, Although Sue and I have the computer, it is truly just a glorified game boy, very little actual work gets done in it, and I forget to even look at the different sites. The knees are fine now, no pain anymore just some stiffness at times, and that makes the whole procedure worth it.
I wish I could spent more time with my children, I miss having them around but can't complain too much as everyone except Kari lives in the area. I just love them all so much. A few days ago Raineer called and wondered if Sue and I were coming down for Memorial Day, boy do I wish we could have gone down. But then I would have missed the cookout with the rest of the family, where is the balance? Sue and I now need to go to Las Vegas so I can paint the guest room for Kari and Raineer, I hear red is now in.

After the cosmetic surgery on my knees on the 9th of Sept, they now are getting better. The scars ae a perfect line for someone to recover the titanium, after my death please and make a few bucks. They now hurt but not as bad as they did prior to surgery, The biggest pain so far is the inability to ride the goldwing. Seems I can't get the leg over the cycle in order to ride. I suppose it's OK however due to the fact that it has no insurance until spring Sue Tells me. Great fall this year.

Good times in Salt Lake are always in fashion for Sue and I. We have enjoyed the Monday and Tuesday mornings with Kennedy and Macy for the past several weeks. One day I was getting Kennedy a glass of milk and she informed me she wanted juice milk. I had no clue as to what juce milk was until she got down on the storage shelf and pulled out a carton of processed milk, from Gosners in Logan, which needs no refrigeration until opened. Juice milk comes in a paper carton with a small straw attached to the carton. Now I Know. Kari came p a couple of weeks ago but only slept here for two nights. She spent the day in Idaho Falls with her friend. I do hope she had a wonderful time after driving from Las Vegas to Idaho Falls. Yesterday we went up Millcreek Canyon for the afternoon with Kristy, Connie and Karen and our families. This is a good outing. I had to come home early so as to get to sleep for my temple job this morning, This getting up at 3:30 am is not the best idea I have ever had.

The last week has been most enjoyable for Sue and I. We spent some time in Yellowstone National Park and in Glacier National Park. Seven couples from our ward went to the Harrisons house, they call it a cabin but lets get real, it's a house in Star Valley, Wyoming and stayed the night. On Thursday we all traveled to Yellowstone and stayed in the old part of the Yellowstone Inn at old faithful. The rooms are small, only the bed, one chair a small chest of drawers and a small bench. There is a basin in the room but the shower and restrooms are down the hall. The inn supplies a terrycloth bathrobe for each guest, on some of us they --being on size fits all - - were more like wearing a smoking jacket . I don't know anything a smoking jacket except what I have seen in old movies you must know. Sue and I loved the rooms. We all traveled around the park for two days then headed home. Sue and I came home via Glacier National Park. LOOK AT A MAP. All in all it was a great time and we both hope to do many more trips with these people in the future.

Last weekend in July and Sue and I are in Las Vegas, seems I have been invited to a golf tournament by my son in law. I haven't played golf in a long time with any regularity but here we go. The last outing was in Moab and three holes were really bad then six holes really good. I only hit it and hope. Raineer and I played golf, well he played golf and I played what some claim is not very close to golf but does use golf equipment in the process. I'm sure glad the golf courses are so nice to be in and to look at. I do enjoy being with the family also. Kari and Joe's yard is really nice now, she has about a dozen mandarin oranges growing and six or eight pomagranites on the way. I have picked ou some photos I have on picasa and have tried now for about an hour to get them on to this blog but have once again failed to do so, so use your imagination to see a mandarin orange tree, a pomagranite tree and a very green new lawn. I hope you all enjoy the pictures attached, I have just spent over an hour trying to get them to this site but it just cannot be done. The last four days were great courtesy of my family. We all, except Ira, spent time in Moab, a place I have been going back to since 1953. The town and the amenities have changed but the sights have not, - except for wall arch which fell in earlier this spring. We saw a few of the local sights and enjoyed some of the local eateries. I think my choice is still Eddie McStiffs. Eating ice cream with Kari, Eliza, Huck and Katie was one of the funnist times I have had in a long time. Jacob, Benjamin Raineer and I played golf one afternoon and had a great time. I hope everyone had as good a time as I.

OK - OK I don't even see this page every day, mostly because it takes me about two (2) days to find it. My computer skills are all most as good as my skills in the language of Sierra Leone. Sue and I have just been doing yard work, and Sue is keeping the yard in good shape. Sue even has been going to my mom's house to find something to do, She must be busy to be happy, always has been this way. I have been working on a couple of projects in the garage and have one of them ready to go. The small desk from Kristy will be a bit longer. We leave for Moab in a few days. I am truly ready to go.

Another week in the life of the retired, and the just plain tired. Sue is seeming to enjoy the life of doing exactly as she desires, a little gardening and a little rest. Bushes beware, Sue is home and has freshly sharpened hand trimmers. She hasn't seen a bush yet she doesn't like to do a trim job on. We had a big meeting about our trip to Yellowstone on Wednesday and some people sure need to plan every minute, right down to where to eat. Just let me see something and get me to the food. I can live on fast food and a cooler in the car. But it will be fun nonetheless. Five couples are going, all from the ward, it should be a good time. Our family trip to Moab is coming up first however. That I am really looking forward to.

I do wish I could figure out ow to put some pictures on this place, I just don't know enough to do it. Perhaps one day I'll have to have Beth or Ben or Jacob teach me, if that can be done. We just finished a birthday party for our newest four year old ... Eliza ... and it was great. We had the traditional charcoal cooked hamburgers, Colosimo sausage and hot dogs and this year the requested purple cake. The cake was great but after sitting in the sun for a half hour the purple frosting turned blue, and the purple sprinkles on the cake became visible for the first time. We then turned to the tie dying event of the day and we all dyed a T-shirt, right down to Macy. It was an excellent day. I only wish Kari and Raineer were here, but we meet in Moab in a couple of weeks and we will have a great time there, even Kari I hope.

Mothers day weekend:::::::::::::
Mom's yard got a quick once over on Saturday, the entrre family was there and doing all sorts of yard work clean up and inside stuff. Lunch was served to all and was really good stuff. On Sunday we went to Jacob's home for dinner and had chicken breast sandwiches. It must be very hard to be a chicken in this world, I have never anywhere that the chicken wasn't a part of the local diet. I myself have been known to eat a chicken or two now and again.

SUE'S FIRST DAY OF RETIREMENT AND SHE WORKED ALL DAY .......... IN THE YARD. We got the parking strip cleaned up and the lawn mowed. A truly eventful day, something to be remembered I'm sure. The sunburn and the bug bites from Toroweep are beginning to make themselves known, boy do I itch. Life is good.

The last few days, since Wednesday actually were spent in the Toroweep valley at the campground in Grand Canyon National Park. The weather was great and I got a very red forehead in the process. Six people from primary hospital went down, ate good food, went on some hikes, told a lot of stories, sat around a lot and did I say eat a lot of good food. We came home on Saturday this time , we usually stay until Sunday. There were some fox not too far from the campsite but we saw no deer nor grand canyon pink rattlers. This has become a great annual trip.

Great weekend, all of our children were here and we, Sue and I at least , enjoyed a great time on Sunday. Kari and Raineer had to go back to LasVegas too early for my taste but they must go back. On Saturday we had to make the pilgramage to Cabelas in Lehi, and to Crown Burger. I don't mind a bit going to either place. It could have been better only if the weather was better. Maci is here and we all enjoyed her presence at her first family party. I only hope for many more family get togethers. Next is Moab in June.. Here comes the fun season.. I have to get ready to go to Tuweep on wednesday, camping with the boys.

Rainy day in Salt Lake but at least it's not cold. Sue is getting close to retirement now and I think finds it hard to go to work, harder every day. I think of Beth and her family and hope they are having fun in Disneyland.

Easter Sunday and all is well. Beth and Ira and the children are in Las Vegas and I hope having fun. I'm sure Raineer and Ira are talking and the kids are entertaining themselves as Beth and Kari are, I'm sure telling stories, reliving memories and laughing, ... lots of laughing. It is a beatiful day hers in Salt Lake , Benjamin and McKenzie as well as Lowell are here for dinner. Lowell had never had funeral potatoes befor, hard to believe,

Boy, I'm glad I don't know how to put pictures on this blog and that it doesn't have sound. I just finished my taxes for the year, with the help of my daughter Beth. I think Sue and I should move to Wyoming or Mongolia to avoid some of the taxes. I love the spring with the green growth coming out and the onset of the summer, I also love fall with the pending onset of winter, but the tax thing takes the luster off of the spring for a day or three. I think I'll go camping at Tuweep and relax.

Last weekend was spent in Las Vegas visiting Kari and Raineer and going to Death Valley National Park with Raineer and my friend Orval. The park had no flowers, the real reason we had come there, but did have plenty of wind, and cold. We did however enjoy the trip. On Saturday we just spent time together in Las Vegas. I do enjoy visiting my daughter.
